  • Bo is amazing! He is full of information. He was able to work with our puppy who is leash reactive, and get her to happily meet another dog is less than 40 minutes! So awesome! I am so thankful I found him to help us, especially since other trainers told us they couldn't.

  • Bo helped my two scared Chihuahuas calm down and relax. They are happier and their anxiety is greatly reduced! I learned to read their body signals better, too. I'm so grateful to Bo for giving my dogs a better life.

  • positive review  I have nothing but good things to say about Bo and his training. I was feeling very helpless with my dog Duke and his behavioral issues and am very glad I found his website online. Bo came to our house to work with our dog Duke. He asked tons of questions to understand what we wanted out of the training, and to understand Duke and what his needs were as well. By the fourth session I had seen a ton of improvement with Duke, and also feel more confident having the tools to help set him up for further success. I highly recommend contacting Bo for any of your dog training needs!

  • positive review  I would highly recommend Bo! I started to have no hope with my two chihuahuas until I met Bo. Not only did he help train my dogs but he helped me understand them better. It only took two training sessions for my dogs and now everyone that knew my dogs behavior issues and went around them before now comes around them with no problems and notices saying “Wow, training really did pay off.”

  • positive review  Bo was phenomenal when we first brought our puppy home! He helped us build a great foundation with her and really gave us the tools to grow with her! HIGHLY recommend him!

  • We had our fist class with Bo a few days after we brought Gytha home at 10 weeks. At 5 months, we're doing Bo's group class, and we're doing really well! Bo is an amazing trainer — sure, he's great with the dogs (he's their best friend, I'm not even chopped liver), but he's also great with people. If you're on the fence, just do it. As long as you put in the work, you and your dog will flourish with Bo's guidance.

  • We just had our first training session with Bo. HE IS AMAZING! Teddy's first test came shortly after Bo left, when a visitor came to the door. One quick bark, no growling! WOW!

  • positive review  I would highly recommend Bo. He was great with our 2 somewhat unruly rescues. He was even able to work with the one that was fearful of men. Bo taught us several techniques that have helped us tremendously with their behavior. It was definitely money well spent!

Financial Rock Meet Hard Place

As the new economy takes a downward turn, everything is going to cost more. People will struggle to afford the standard necessities of life. That means tightening the budget.

So,what happens when your beloved canine companion needs help?

Private dog training in this area averages $125 to $150 per hour-long session. That’s just not possible for many dog owners.

That will leave many wondering…

“How can I get help for my dog that I can afford?”

I Want My Dog-Training Business to Be Part of the Economic Solution

I'm the "Economy Dog Trainer"

Despite the fact that I have been in business for 9 years and the high quality of my dog training is well established, my rates are far below the industry standard.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a quality professional dog trainer charging according to expertise, just like any other profession.

That’s where I’m different

Unlike other trainers, I don’t charge according to my expertise.

Instead…

I charge according to my mission,
which is…

I Make Humane Dog Training Accessible and Affordable

I am Used to Working with Families on a Tight Budget

Clients often tell me how thrilled they are to have found a high-quality professional dog trainer they could afford. (Yes, I’ve been described as “too good to be true”.)

Unfortunately, my willingness to work with budgets will be needed now more than ever.

With this newly emerging economic environment, things are going to be more difficult than normal, especially for those who are at the bottom of the economic ladder.

So, I’ve decided to try an experiment.

Welcome to "Pay What You Can Afford" Dog Training

Now you can take advantage of a sliding scale while enjoying the benefits of my personalized one-on-one private dog training over Google Meet.

For a 45-minute online dog-training session, I only ask $25 as a minimum payment, and you get to choose how much you pay me beyond that.

That means…

If you need the financial help,
you can get professional dog training
for
less than 20%
of standard dog training rates.

If you can afford to pay more than $25 for a single session, please do so. After all, I’m offering my time and expertise for much less than normal. (For reference, a 45-minute session over Google Meet would normally be about $50 with me.)

Limitations

Keep in mind we only have a 45-minute session to work with. That will significantly limit what we can tackle.

When you fill out your form, make sure to list all of the issues you would like help with, and I will choose from that list what I think is most appropriate for our time together. We will get through what we can get through.

I will not be working with any significannt emotional issues (such as aggression, separation anxiety, or resource guarding) since those issues are beyond the scope of this program.

Here's How It Works

Apply

Fill in the form so I know what your needs are before we meet. Please be thorough. I will base my plan on what you send me.

Review

I will look over your application. If everything is in order and I believe we are a good fit, I’ll invite you to training.

Schedule

You will receive an email to get you into a training time slot. Pick a time you know you and your dog will be ready.

Pay

I will email you an invoice. It will be due the next day. You simply click the link to pay the amount. Then, the time slot is yours.

(Note: Please make sure to pay on time. If you miss the deadline, I will need to cancel the invoice and offer the time slot to someone else.)

Train

After you have confirmed our appointment by paying, I’ll send you a link to our online classroom. Just click it when it’s time and I’ll let you in the room!

Force-Free Training Methods

As a modern science-based dog trainer, I take a compassion-based approach that motivates a dog from within by leveraging the power of positive desire.

My methods are force-free and pain-free. I never use intimidation, fear, pain, or violence to motivate dogs in any way during our training sessions. A popular term for my approach is “positive dog training”.

I do not allow the use of aversive tools or techniques (those which motivate through intimidation, fear, pain, or violence) in my dog training sessions. If a dog shows up wearing aversive tools (such as a choke chain, prong collar, or shock collar), I will require you to remove it before we continue.

If you’re familiar with clicker training, you can use a clicker. Technically, I am a clicker trainer, but I use my voice instead of a clicker.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can only sign up for one PWYCA lesson at a time. After that, you will need to wait for me to open enrollment again. Then, you will need to get in quickly to reserve one of the limited time slots. So, whether you can get more than one PWYCA lessons depends on whether you can get back in before others do.

If you want more than one lesson, the best way to do that is to purchase a package from me. Packages will be at my regular pricing, but even my regular pricing is still economy pricing.

If you can afford my full pricing, I recommend bypassing the PWYCA option and getting on my call calendar. This way you don’t take up a slot from someone who may need the financial assistance.

If you want to see my normal (still economical) pricing, check out my Services Page.

In this case, you would want to start the ball rolling by getting on my call calendar for a free initial phone call.

Sorry, but I don’t know yet. It depends on how well the program works and how it impacts my business. After all, I am charging way less for my time than normal to help people out.

Once I send the invoice, you will have until 6:30 pm (CST) the next evening to pay. If you don’t pay by then, I will cancel the appointment, cancel the invoice, and remove you from the calendar to make room for others. You will have to wait until the next time to get back on the calendar.

Sorry, but all payments are non-refundable.
