  • Arnold is a 9 month old yellow lab mixed with husky. His energy is endless! 4 months ago I was getting complaints about my pup barking. 2 months ago I received behavior notes from Arnold’s day care. Since we started training with Bo we haven’t received any noise complaints and Arnold is able to go to two days at day care now. I’ve learned a lot from Bo. Arnold and I have a better bond now than we have before. I still have a lot of work to do but I have all of the tools I need thanks to Bo!

  • positive review  I would highly recommend Bo! I started to have no hope with my two chihuahuas until I met Bo. Not only did he help train my dogs but he helped me understand them better. It only took two training sessions for my dogs and now everyone that knew my dogs behavior issues and went around them before now comes around them with no problems and notices saying “Wow, training really did pay off.”

If Your Dog is Having a Panic Attack when you leave, Read This!

Separation Anxiety Hurts the Whole Family

Separation anxiety is not something dogs just “get over”. It’s an emotional disorder or a syndrome.

On top of that, the emotional pain and stress your dog constantly endures seeps through all family life like a drop of food coloring changing everything as it spreads through water.

The effects are far-reaching and deep, and can include things like…

Your dog injuring itself while panicking, which leads to hundreds or thousands of dollars at the emergency vet

Your dog developing health issues such as digestive and heart complications, which can lead to expensive veterinary care or a shortened lifespan

Destruction of property as your dog ruins carpets, shreds furniture, destroys doorways, or breaks glass trying to find you in order to feel safe again

Family members are constantly on edge and snapping at each other because they are perpetually worried about their beloved canine companion

Hugging a Dog

Working your dog through a separation anxiety healing program can save you hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars of property damage and veterinary bills, not to mention it can give you peace of mind knowing that your dog will be able to finally rest and relax while you are away.

Bottom Line: The sooner you get help, the better for everyone.

What Will It be Like When You Can Finally Leave Your Dog Alone at Home and Not Have to Worry?

"My apartment landlord told me..."

“…that if I don’t stop my dog barking and disturbing my neighbors while I am gone I will have to get rid of my dog or move out.”

That’s what one client told me on the phone when she asked me to help her dog overcome his separation anxiety.

She was terrified, desperate. I could hear her voice shaking as she spoke.

She rescued her dog and loved him more than anything in the world. She couldn’t bear the thought of losing him.

She hired me, and we started the process.

Over the next month, she diligently worked with her dog, and by the time we finished, she was able to leave her dog alone for an extended period of time without  incident.

Here's how she describes it…

My dog had severe isolation anxiety. I had tried EVERYTHING before I contacted Bo. I came to him pretty desperate. My building and neighbors threatened me with getting me evicted if I didn’t fix the problem and/or return the dog to the shelter.

Bo was amazing in every aspect. He was very very patient, he went at my dog’s speed and I never felt rushed by him. He really takes his time and always wanted to make sure that my dog was 100% comfortable with being crated while being alone.

I honestly would give him 1000 stars if I could. He helped me keep my furr baby and I will be forever thankful for that.

While separation anxiety is terrible to go through for dogs and their families, I believe that it CAN be overcome with the right healing process.

Why Do I Believe That?

Separation Anxiety - Puppy Tutor Dog Training

Because I've Been There

Yes, I’ve been through separation anxiety with both my dogs.

I remember what it was like to constantly worry about them. I remember all the stress I felt throughout the workday.

So, like their knight in shining armor, I went on a quest.

I sought to understand the disorder as deeply as I could, and I learned how to work with it effectively and efficiently.

This quest was driven by passion, my passion for my boys. I love my dogs. I do not want my dogs to suffer. I will do whatever I have to do to help them.

(I suspect you know where I’m coming from.)

Standard Separation Anxiety Training is Very Expensive

Just Thinking about the Financial Math Hurts My Head

Unfortunately, back in the day, I simply did not have the finances to get my boys professional help.

Today, you can expect to spend between $150 and $200 for an initial evaluation, and then $600 and $1000 on average for one, single month’s worth of training. And, it’s extremely common for the process to last two or more months, sometimes even more than a year.

There’s no way I could have afforded that back then. In fact, I don’t personally know many people who could.

So, I had no choice but to figure it all out myself, for my dogs’ sake.

And I did!

I pulled together all the information I needed, and I created my own process that brought healing not only to my own household, but to the households of those who became my separation anxiety clients as well.

Finally, a Complete Separation Anxiety Training Program You Can Easily Afford

Lugh in Kennel with Chewbone

"Making Humane Dog Training Accessible and Affordable"

That’s my mission.

I hated not being able to afford the training my dogs needed. And, I don’t want others to have to go through it like I did.

That’s why I created this D.I.Y. program.

It enables me to get you all the information you need to go through the process by yourself, without expecting you to pay standard, specialized rates that are typical in the dog training industry.

An Entire DIY Program for Less than the Evaluation Cost for Most Programs

Expect to pay $150–$200 just for an initial evaluation for most separation anxiety programs before you even pay to start the expensive training itself.

Why not try to do it yourself first for considerably less?

(And by “less” I mean about 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost.)

The Secret Formula: The Healing Trifecta

In this program, you will learn the process I created and personally use to help dogs heal from separation anxiety. It works on three distinct areas of the dog’s personality before pulling it all together into a separation anxiety protocol.

Foundation Skills

Comfort with Confinement

My approach weaves exercises designed to strengthen each of those three areas systematically, with each stage of the process building on everything that has happened prior.

As a result, when you get to the protocol itself, your dog is ready for the big game.

Separation Anxiety Training Trifecta

It’s like weight training for your dog’s brain so it can learn to find comfort in your absence.

What's in This Program?

Make No Mistake, This is a BIG Ebook

At 234 pages, the ebook is chock full of information, exercises, and insights that will empower you to work your dog through the process as if you were a pro.

 Here’s what you’ll find inside:

A list of tools and products to help you work through the process more efficiently

A thorough understanding of what separation anxiety is so you know what you’re working with

A description of how dog brains process information, based on cutting-edge neuroscience, so you can understand your dog better

A framework for understanding the process, why it works, and how to implement it so you can adapt as you need to

A list of tools and products that can help you work through the process more efficiently

A series of step-by-step exercises designed specifically to help strengthen your dog’s ability to be alone

Illustrations to help you visualize exercises in order to replicate them

A supplement of printable pages of the exercises so you can reference them as you go

When you embark upon my separation anxiety process, It begins by making sure that your dog has the foundational skills necessary to go through the separation anxiety protocol.

Those foundational skills include things like “sit”, “lay down”, and “come”, for example. It also includes more advanced skills, such as “go to your mat and relax”.

As a result, you end up teaching your dog almost all of the skills you would get in a standard basic skills course.

That means you get almost a complete basic training course in addition to the separation anxiety training that is designed to help your dog heal.

You’re basically getting two courses bound together as one.

About the Author, Bo McGuffee

Bo is the founder/owner of Puppy Tutor Dog Training in Beloit, WI. His approach to dog training is force-free and pain-free. He never uses intimidation, fear, pain, or violence (a.k.a., “aversives”) to motivate a dog.

When you train with him, you know that you are using a scientifically-proven framework and methods that take dog training to a whole new level.

But this approach is about more than just science for him. While force-free dog training is indeed the most scientific and effective training available, it is also the most compassionate. In Bo’s eyes, the primary value of force-free training lies in it being the only approach that truly respects and works with who the dog really is, thus harmonizing the canine-human relationship.
